Our Snow Layers are available to Explore members on both the FATMAP app and website and allow you to check the Snow Depth, Fresh Snow and Snow Forecast.
You can find all the Snow Layers in the Terrain Tools menu on the right-hand side of the screen (under the Overlays tab on the FATMAP website).
Snow Depth
Snow depth is currently available in the continental US, the Alps, and the Pyrenees, coming soon to other parts of the world.
The data for the Snow Depth layer is updated every 24 hours.
The Snow Depth layer shows you a colour-coded overlay on the map, going from Trace (very small amounts) up to 250cm+.
Fresh Snow
The Fresh Snow layer is available for the Alps and the Pyrenees, and is coming soon to other parts of the world.
It shows data from the previous 48 hours.

Snow Forecast
Currently, the Snow Forecast is available for the Alps and the Pyrenees, and is coming soon to other parts of the world.
The Snow Forecast layer shows data for the next 48 hours.

Data Sources
Our live snow data for Europe is supplied by Exolabs. For North America, the data source is NOAA.

Currently only the snow depth is working. Fresh snow and forecast don’t show anything. Any idea what is causing the issue?
Hi tommy.mladenov, can we we ask which area you were looking at? It might just be that there is no fresh snow and no snow forecast at that time. Cheers, Jon
